Title: Introducing The Living Archive: Your Story, Made Wearable

Excerpt (요약문): Some stories deserve more than memory. Beginning this month, De La Forme invites you to submit a memory, person, place, object, or moment — and we will turn ten of them into custom graphic pieces.

Introducing The Living Archive: Your Story, Made Wearable

Every garment we make begins with a story. Usually, it is ours — a reference we found, a feeling we chased, a form we could not let go of. With The Living Archive, we are turning that process around. This time, the story is yours.

What is The Living Archive?

The Living Archive is an ongoing project where our community becomes our co-author. You submit something you want to preserve — a memory, a person, a place, an object, or a moment — in a few sentences, in your own words. Each month, our studio reads every submission and selects up to ten stories. Each selected story is then translated into a custom graphic piece: typography, image, and symbol drawn directly from what you wrote.

And here is the part we love most — if your story is chosen, the first completed piece goes to you. Before anyone else in the world, the garment born from your story arrives at your door.

There is no wrong story

You do not need to be a writer. You do not need a dramatic tale. Some of the most powerful submissions will be the quietest ones:

  • A father's compass that never pointed north correctly — but he never got lost.
  • The sea wall in your hometown, where every important conversation of your youth happened.
  • The night you drove until sunrise, because none of you wanted the day to end.

A worn watch. A grandmother's hands. A room that only exists in your mind now. If it matters to you, it belongs in the archive.

How it works

  1. Submit — Write your story in a few sentences. A photo helps, but words are enough. It takes about three minutes.
  2. Selection — Each month, we read everything and select up to ten stories for that cycle.
  3. Design — Our studio translates each story into a one-of-a-kind graphic piece.
  4. Receive — Selected contributors receive the first edition of their piece, at no cost.

If your story is not selected this month, it stays in the archive and remains eligible for future cycles. Your story always belongs to you — we only ask permission to interpret it as a design, and personal details are never published without your consent.

Why we are doing this

Fashion has always borrowed from memory — ours, and everyone's. The Living Archive is our way of making that exchange honest. Instead of designing about people, we want to design with them. A piece that carries a real story is worn differently. It means something before it is ever put on.

We believe some stories deserve more than memory. Send us yours.

Submissions are open now and close on the last day of each month.
