Every day is a new day

In Hemingway’s The Old Man and the Sea, an ageing fisherman named Santiago rows far out alone, hooks the largest marlin of his life, and holds on through three days and nights — only to lose it to sharks on the long way home. He returns with nothing but the skeleton lashed to his skiff, and yet unbroken.

This design keeps his creed as a nautical crest — an anchor and a leaping marlin over the words Every Day Is a New Day — embroidered on heavyweight black fleece.

Front chest — embroidered nautical crest

The crest sits at the left chest as raised embroidery — a grey anchor and a blue marlin over teal waves, the motto arched around it in bone and grey thread, quiet against the black fleece until it catches the light.

Care

Machine wash cold, inside out, with like colours. Tumble dry low or hang to dry. Do not iron directly over the embroidery. Reshape while damp and avoid wringing to keep the fleece soft.
