Gulliver's Travels — Crewneck

Jonathan Swift’s four impossible voyages. (1726)

✶ ✶ ✶

The Design Story

Four impossible lands

In 1726 Jonathan Swift sent the ship’s surgeon Lemuel Gulliver to four lands that never were: Lilliput, where he towered over a six-inch people; Brobdingnag, where giants held him in a palm; the floating island of Laputa; and the country of the Houyhnhnms, rational horses who looked down on brutish men. Beneath the adventure ran the sharpest satire of its age.

This design maps that whole voyage — a compass rose between the islands, their names ringed around it and 1726 struck below — embroidered on heavyweight navy fleece.
