Chapter I

The Story

Germany, 1888. Before dawn, Bertha Benz took her husband’s untested motorwagen and drove 66 miles to visit her mother — the first long-distance automobile journey in history. Along the way she cleared a fuel line with a hairpin, insulated a wire with a garter, and proved to a doubting world that the automobile was more than an experiment. This design honors that pioneering drive in the language of a vintage motoring poster.

The chest wears a small embroidered wordmark; the back carries a full vintage spec-sheet graphic — the machine, its dimensions, and its details, printed like a page from an old catalog.

Chapter II

Front & Back

Front — A small golden embroidered wordmark on the left chest, with the signature script “The” above bold lettering, a star and rule beneath.

Back — A large golden print across the back: a full illustration with vintage spec-sheet framing — the machine, its dimensions, and its details.

Chapter III

Fabric & Fit

7.8 oz (260 gsm) fleece in ring-spun combed cotton — heavyweight, brushed soft on the inside, and built to last.

Cut in a comfort fit with a lined hood, ribbed cuffs and hem, and a front kangaroo pocket. Heather grey.

Care

• Machine wash cold, inside out, with like colors
• Do not bleach · do not iron directly on the print or embroidery
• Tumble dry low or hang dry
• Washing inside out keeps the golden print and stitching crisp
