An eye above the atmosphere

In 1990 we placed a telescope in orbit above the blur of Earth’s air, and the cosmos snapped into focus. Freed from the atmosphere, it returned the sharpest views humanity had ever seen — dying stars, colliding galaxies, and a deep field that found thousands of galaxies in a patch of sky the size of a grain of sand held at arm’s length.

This design renders that instrument in full — the orbiting telescope banking over Earth with a spiral galaxy beyond — drawn like a plate from an old star atlas, the year 1990 struck beneath it.

Care

Machine wash cold, inside out, with like colours. Tumble dry low or hang to dry. Do not iron directly over the print. Reshape while damp and avoid wringing to keep the fleece soft.
