Chapter I
The Story
Mannheim, Germany, 1886. Karl Benz filed patent No. 37435 for a three-wheeled carriage driven not by a horse, but by a small internal-combustion engine. The Benz Patent-Motorwagen was the first true automobile — the machine every car since descends from. This design celebrates that origin in the spirit of a vintage archive plate.
The chest wears a hexagonal patent badge; the back carries the full graphic — the Motorwagen in detailed illustration with its patent and provenance, printed like a page from an archive.
