The Story

October 4, 1957. A polished metal sphere the size of a beach ball, trailing four slender antennae, was launched into orbit and began circling the Earth every ninety minutes — beeping a simple radio signal that anyone with a receiver could hear. Sputnik 1 was the first human-made object to orbit our planet, and with it the space age began. This design records that moment in the language of a mission insignia.

The chest wears a round patch; the back carries the full graphic — the satellite above a spinning globe, its orbit traced around the world.

Chapter II

Front & Back

Front — A round black embroidered patch on the left chest — the satellite in cream stitch with “Sputnik 1 · 1957 · Exploration” on the border.

Back — A large DTF print across the back: Sputnik 1 above the Earth with its orbit traced, framed by “Sputnik 1 · First Artificial Satellite · 1957 · The Space Age Begins”.

Chapter III

Fabric & Fit

7.8 oz (260 gsm) fleece in ring-spun combed cotton — heavyweight, brushed soft on the inside, and built to last.

Cut in a comfort fit with a ribbed crewneck, cuffs, and hem. Crewneck sweatshirt in white.

Care

• Machine wash cold, inside out, with like colors
• Do not bleach · do not iron directly on the print
• Tumble dry low or hang dry
• Washing inside out keeps the print crisp
