Where the surgeon played god

In 1896, H. G. Wells stranded a shipwrecked man on a remote island ruled by Doctor Moreau — a surgeon exiled for his experiments, who carved animals into the shape of men and bound them with a whispered Law. His creatures walked upright, spoke, and prayed — but the beast beneath always returned.

This design wears that dread as a single emblem — a skull with one living red eye, the border between human and animal never quite closing — embroidered in blackletter over heavyweight black fleece.

The skull sits at the left chest as raised embroidery — bone-white thread with a single red eye and the title in blackletter beneath, quiet against the black fleece until it catches the light.

Care

Machine wash cold, inside out, with like colours. Tumble dry low or hang to dry. Do not iron directly over the embroidery. Reshape while damp and avoid wringing to keep the fleece soft.
